INTRODUCING DARYL R PEEBLES

.... a man of many hats; here are just a few of them!
COMEDIAN
Daryl is one half of Tasmanias longest-running comedy duo which has just celebrated its 28th anniversary. The act was a hit at the inaugural Hobart Comedy Festival in 2002 and again in 2003, and appeared at the National Folk Festival in Canberra at Easter 2005. The duo is in constant demand, especially for sports clubs. Clubs enjoying th antics of this zany duo so far this season include Turners Beach, Natone and Redpa Football Clubs.
Daryl also has a solo comedy act with recent appearances including the MAGPI national conference (Henry Jones Art Hotel); Harvest Moon (Forth) Growers Night; Variety Club Fund-raiser, Claremont Golf Club.
Daryls comedy poetry performance at the Cygnet Folk Festival in January 2004 and again in 2005 earned him an invitation to perform at the National Poetry Debating competition in Canberra in 2005 and again in 2006.
EMCEE
Daryl regularly works as an emcee for events, conferences and conventions. His capacity to engage an audience of all ages, his quick wit, his unflustered professionalism in dealing with the unforeseen and his organising abilities have all been praised by many satisfied clients. Recent events benefiting from Daryls emceeing include the Hobart City Council's Kidz in the Park, the Amnesty International Freedom Dinner, Testra Awards Night at the Hotel Grand Chancellor, the Ronald McDonald Ball and the Local Government Association of Tasmania and Municipal Association of Victoria annual conferences and many other corporate events and planning days.
MAGICIAN / VENTRILOQUIST
Daryl continues to delight children as the magician Mr Beep with his ventriloquist mates Rollie, Artie, Dexter, Matilda, Scoot and Uncle Clarrie. He also works as a comedian/magician at corporate and club functions throughout Tasmania and on the big island! He can work close-up (table) magic or provides a stage show involving comedy magic, song and / or stand up.
AFTER-DINNER SPEAKER / PRESENTER
Daryls knowledge of, and passion for, Tasmania makes him a winner with interstate and international groups. He is also in constant demand as an after-dinner speaker with his hilarious tales of life in theatre being the catalyst for audiences to explore the sociological, physical and psychological benefits of humour. Recent satisfied clients include MAGPI, the Local Government Association of Tasmania, MICAH projects Inc (Brisbane) and Hobart Water.
PLAYWRIGHT
Daryl has been actively involved in theatre since 1979 and has been writing plays since 1988. As one of Tasmanias foremost playwrights, he has written 14 one-act plays, four full-length plays and a musical. He has also written five training films, numerous revue and theatre-restaurant scripts and dialogue for a nationally syndicated cartoon strip.
One of his plays, Marching for Marco, won Daryl a Tasmania Day Award for his contribution to theatre through writing. This play was subsequently performed at the 1996 Adelaide Fringe Festival and the Antipodes Festival in Melbourne. Another two of Daryls plays, the pub-comedy Shenanigans Wake and Barbecue, have attracted national interest and continue to be performed around Australia.
TWO OF A KIND
In mid-2005 a Minister in the Providence Historic Church of North Carolina found a strange chap at the other end of the planet who not only shared his rather unusual name, Daryl R Peebles, but almost 30 other similar or identical characteristics. This phenomenon, the odds of which were calculated by a Professor of Mathematics as being 750 followed by 32 zeroes to one, captured the imagination of media outlets throughout the world.
The two Daryl R Peebles have been interviewed by people of the calibre of Jay Leno (the Tonight Show) and David Koch and Melissa Doyle (Sunrise on the Seven Network) along with many others from the USA, Canada, Israel, Japan, the UK and of course, Australia.

TESTIMONIALS
The conference was a great success and that was due in large part to the level of entertainment our delegates were provided throughout. Thanks again for organising such wonderful and dedicated performers who really turned on a great show for us at Hobart Town Hall. Their level of talent and professionalism is, without a doubt, top notch!
Kind Regards, Sinead Horan, PA/Administration Coordinator, Caravan, RV & Accommodation Industry of Australia National Office (CRVA)
